Robert Neff is a photographer, contemporary artist and writer. Truly, he is a multidimensional. Over the years, he has refined his approach and style. His work has been described as “Cutting edge” and as providing “An ‘eye’ for the unique and interesting.”

His photography avoids digital manipulation. He believes work that has been digitally manipulated shifts it into photographic art and is a separate medium. His photography has been labeled “Straight” photography, where the objective is to capture the moment using natural light and setting. Post processing may used, but is limited in scope. This is the exception, rather than the norm.

Over the last couple years, he has work to expand boundaries to explore different genres, but always returns to events and settings that are natural, not staged. Recently, he has been working with a celebrity/model photographer to explore this genre.

In 2007, his efforts shifted to contemporary art and developed a new style that is photography-based. For the next two years he created cutting edge studies in art and design that produced three styles: Palm Seed Pod, Zurich Collection and Transformations. Work from these three styles are featured here and are submitted in the “Design & Illustration” category.

His writing encompasses several genres from poetry to blending his words with images and a book of anecdotes and observations. He has included one work for Art Scope from the upcoming book. He was recently asked to contribute to a literary collection featuring authors on the New York Times Best Sellers List, playwrights, and published authors. The first poetry book is to be published late 2011 with the others to follow in 2012.

He also uses his photography to tell a story or a back story on his web site and through his social media presence on Twitter, where he tweets as @5wa. He has been a part of or assembled several events that have provided a venue for his writing and photography. The social media events covered this year are NASA and Tampa Bay Rays Tweetup, Grand Prix St Petersburg, Surfers For Autism and The Dali Museum’s first social media event. Each has provided experience in developing photo essays and a story.

Overall, Robert Neff’s work offers a refreshing perspective. His work engages the senses and is “Art with a story; Art with a vision.”

Art is a reflection of life built upon a foundation of mystery, amusement, exploration, experience and most importantly, serendipity. My drive, as an artist, is to explore and relate on paper, canvas or in 3-D what I assume existence is, not in any religious or spiritual meaning, but rather, in a more earth-bound and scientific view from the micro- to the macro-cosym of the universe. The steady pulse of life, with all its changes and complexities, is in harmony within this chaotic illusion. And, this illusion lives in every line drawn or brush stroke which I put to paper or canvas.

Science and humor go hand and hand in my art. I have strived, and have had some success, at presenting my personal experience in this voyage of earthbound awareness. I continue to attempt to expand my horizons in different medium and hope my images relate to a kindred spirit in humanity.

Being a native Floridian, Donna Morrison’s first artistic love is old world Florida. Donna also finds inspiration in natural settings, creatures and people discovered all around the world in her travels and experiences. She combines her passion for color and detail to produce works of art with a flair for the dramatic. She is recognized for her realistic representations of Florida which include such subject matter as water birds, landscapes and orchids as well as cows and native plants. Donna enjoys experimenting by painting with watercolor, pastel, acrylic and oil on various media surfaces including paper, canvas, clayboard and YUPO. She is influenced by the realistic artwork of such masters as Andrew Wyeth and Norman Rockwell as well as current artist Dean Mitchell and those with whom she has had the opportunity to study.

Donna attended Furman University in Greenville, SC and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a bent for advertising design. She worked as a Chamber of Commerce Communications Manager and as a graphic designer. She created and ran her own company Bayou Graphics, Inc. which focused mainly on print design and execution. After ten years she sold her company and moved into fine art exclusively. Donna has shown her work and earned numerous awards and praise throughout the state of Florida and beyond. She has also participated in traveling national exhibitions and is an active member of many local and state art organizations including holding a board position with the Florida Watercolor Society. Recent awards include Best of Show in the Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society 2010 member show, the Brandon League of fine Arts Artworks 2010 and the 2010 Bay Area Art Show in Tampa, Florida. She most recently secured her second acceptance into the Paint America Top 100 traveling exhibition as well as acceptances into the Louisiana Watercolor Society’s 40th International Exhibition and the 22nd Tri-State Juried Water Media Exhibition. She holds her signature membership with the Tampa Realistic Artists Association and the Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society. Most of her work can be viewed online at www.donnamorrison.net or in Tampa at 110 S. MacDill Avenue.

Donna was born on January 30, 1964 in Bradenton, Florida where she was raised and greatly influenced by the native Florida surroundings and culture of Anna Maria Island as well as native cattle ranches and farmers. After college Donna met her husband Howell, a fellow native Floridian and lover of everything Florida. They reside in Tampa, Florida and have two daughters Alexandra and Grace.

Sherry has combined her love of nature, walking and travel to create landscapes and nature photography. She also enjoys creating regional and urban photographic work extending throughout Florida.

Sherry has always enjoyed “taking pictures”, an interest that was passed down to her from her father.

After retiring from Corporate America, Sherry was afforded the time to build on her passion by creating photographic art.

Sherry is a member of the Photographic Arts Society as well as several Meetup photography groups. Her works are often part of the Photographic Art Society’s exhibits at the Summit Office Complex in Clearwater FL. While showing at the Summit Sherry has been awarded two Honorable Mentions from the judges as well as three People’s Choice awards. When her work was exhibited at the Tampa Museum of Art’s “open call”, Sherry was awarded an Honorable mention by the Judge in the documentary category. Sherry’s works also includes photographic prints on Canvas media, which have been on display at the Jewish Community Center, Oldsmar City Hall and the West Tampa Center for the Arts. Sherry received First Place for one photo and Honorable Mention for a second photo in the 2010 Kelby Photo Walk in Palm Harbor.

Through photography, Sherry has discovered there are surprises to be captured in this journey called life.

As a figurative artist, I have painted the classical nude using watercolor, charcoal, and acrylic as my mediums. For me, the human body provides an infinite terrain for expression. After graduating from the University of South Florida with a Master of Arts degree in communication, I recognized that narrative could easily occupy a place on canvas as well as the written word can on paper. Some of my past showings include: Magnum Opus, Ybor City, Florida Themed Artist, Arts on 9th, Ybor City, Florid,Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, Shimberg Playhouse Exhibition “The Little Dog Laughed.”Wines of Italy, Italian Club, Ybor City ,Florida, La Di Da Art Show The Ritz,r, Ybor City, Florida Themed Artist, “Uncovered” at The Great Frame Up, Wesley Chapel, Florida, Beck Gallery, Lutz, Florida,Gallery Live, Ybor City, Florida, Virgin 2, Ritz Theatre, YborCity, Art Walk: Ybor Arts Association Art Walk,Faces of Athena: Romeo’s Gallery, Ybor City 7th Ave. GO! Ybor City, Florida.

I use vibrant hues and bold strokes to represent my subjects. These aesthetic effects create sensual dynamics and physicality to their forms. Figurative art is dependent on lines, shape, color, light, and emotion to create visual impact. Each of these elements has significant value and evokes an intimate voice that speaks to a myriad of interpretations.

Craig was born and raised in New York, spent summers on Lake Sunapee in NH, lived for awhile in the mid-west, spent nearly 30 years in New England and moved to Tampa in 2008. After receiving his degree from Middlebury College, VT, Craig found himself in the world of professional photography and moved away from painting for many years. Wherever he traveled throughout the United States, he always took his camera and captured thousands of images, gathering source material for paintings. In the last decade and a half he returned to painting once again, and the photographs he created have come to life in his rich, evocative pieces. Using classic techniques of under-painting and glazing, Craig’s work is moody and thoughtful. Among others, painters Edward Hopper and Robert Bechtle have influenced his work.

Throughout over 30 years as a professional photographer, I have captured a wide variety of man-made landscapes through the lens of a camera. In recent years, many of these images have been the inspiration for paintings, where the hand and eye create the light, better than camera and lens.

Ricklene Wren is a self-taught artist who is originally from Michigan but has lived in Florida for 25 years. Having grown up in an artistic family, Ricklene drew much inspiration from her late Grandfather. Working with acrylics, Ricklene uses pallet knives as her choice tool and creates pieces full of texture and depth, while at the same time capturing detail and emotion in a strikingly unique way. Her paintings often convey a mood that has been described as thought provoking and mysterious. Having done strictly commission work in the past, Ricklene is enjoying the freedom of painting subject matter that she chooses herself.

Along life’s journey, each of us is confronted with opportunities to try new things, change direction, and explore new possibilities. Do we dare to cross over the portals of the unknown and explore the mysteries beyond what we know? Or do we choose to continue on, never knowing what might have been?

Faith Bradburn Keller, an award winning artist and graduate of Ringling College of Art and Design has spent the past 25 years trying to live by that statement. “Life is too short not to do what you enjoy and were created to do,” she says.

With Faith’s love of nature, she finds it intriguing to explore and discover texture, form and light. The way light and color reveals itself in nature is exciting which influences new possibilities as depth and realism is revealed in each of Faith’s paintings. Which in turn, expresses beauty and identity in her art that allows the viewer to participate as well, oftentimes reflecting on past memories, experiences and feelings.

Since a small child, Faith has been fascinated with expressing her observations and experiences creatively. Gaining insight and skill through painting en Plein Air, on location, and capturing light, colors and the moment as it exists in the natural world. Painting on location allows Faith to feel more connected to her subjects and to understand the light and mood. She also enjoys spending time photographing nature, landscapes, and man-made items to use as reference back in the studio for future paintings.

Painting in acrylics and oils and pushing the medium further each time she paints continues the growing process as she evolves as an artist. “This growth brings with it a new level of creative awareness in myself and in my art.”

In May of 2011, she received her bachelor’s degree in Sociology, with an emphasis in Urban Studies, from the University of South Florida. She is also an alumni of the Pinellas County Center for The Arts, in St. Petersburg. She has fused her passions and educational credentials in an assortment of ways. By day, she is a Program Assistant and Volunteer Coordinator for Prodigy Cultural Arts, a nonprofit program that teaches positive life skills through the visual and performing arts, to at risk youth. When she is ‘off the clock’, she is the leader of Sacred Studio, an a micro church of The Tampa Underground Network that helps people connect to their faith through the arts. She is also a member of the Underground Artist Collective. She is a visual artist who specializes in large scale portraits, and likes to experiment with oil and chalk pastels, as well as experimenting with graffiti work. Her ultimate dream is to help bridge vulnerable populations to the visual, written, and performing arts, by opening up an urban inner-city arts venue.

I’m a graduate of Kansas State University with a B.F.A in graphic design and painting. After college I started my career as a designer for Hallmark Cards. My husband and I recently moved to Safety Harbor from Kansas City where I continue to do freelance designs for Hallmark Cards.

Outside of my work at Hallmark, I spend lots of time doing what I love…painting. I have such a passion for applying oil and acrylics to canvas. I am currently working on a new series of paintings for the “fight against breast cancer.” This idea came from watching my mom go through the struggles and emotional roller coaster called breast cancer. The works are based on these emotions, which I have experienced through my mother and countless other women. I have incorporated inspirational quotes into my painting in hopes that they bring enlightenment to those facing and experiencing this terrible disease.

Born 1991 in Ocala, Florida, Kristin O’Connor began drawing soon after learning to hold a pencil. She currently fosters her unceasing desire to create at the University of Tampa in her junior year as an Art major. Her work has appeared in various shows in central Florida, and most recently at the Sienna Art Institute in Sienna, Italy.

O’Connor’s work celebrates the brief, unacknowledged gestures, reactions, and little bursts of laughter sisters and their friends share with each other. In refusing to dismiss the trivial and informal, she strives to leave the viewer conscious of the unlikely places and moments in which beauty can be found.

Even though I am a second generation artist I consider myself to be largely self taught. My mother was and artist schooled in the classical method and she influenced my artistic development.

I taught basic riding and classical dressage for more than 25 years until I developed rheumatoid arthritis several years ago.At that point I became an artist full time. My equestrian background has found a way to incorporate my love and understanding of horses into my artwork.

My goal as a traditional painter is to merge the contemporary world in which I am engaged with the art of the High Renaissance. My paintings are a combination of careful observation of the world around me and my imagination. The works I create are built of several layers of paint carefully manipulated in order to obtain a finished product that is true t real life while retaining the look of a painting. In a world where we are constantly bombarded visually my intention is to provide the viewer with something t take them out of the ordinary or to look at the ordinary in a new and refreshing way.

I have recently moved from Nashville, TN to Hudson, FL where I am employed as an instructor with the Pasco Art Council. My work has been exhibited in singular and collective venues and many of my works hang in collections in the US and Europe.

My Art usually takes a figurative structure and is pulled by bright color and texture, playing with contrast of surface and hue. I like the creatures/characters from early 70-80’s horror movies and cartoons, but spin them to evoke a lighter side with the color palette and expressions; Music, the beach, and animal behavior also play a roll in the formation of these light-hearted characters. I think everyone has a nice side, but it is often tarnished from work, stress, economic status, and no free time. My goal is to reveal that nice side of even the most gruesome creatures. I sell works from three Florida galleries: Eve n Odd in St. Petersburg, The Main Street Gallery in Panama City, and Drops of Jupiter in Winter Haven. I’m always happy to do commission works and take part in special events, so don’t be afraid to ask.

I was raised in Brooklyn, N.Y. and born in Bayamon, P.R. I am currently a resident of Tampa, FL.

The eye of the beholder being the camera’s lens, captures with a single click a moment in time. One single image can speak multitudes. I embraced photography for the sheer love of it and love to photograph anything that catches my eye.

My drawings/painting have been influenced by my missionary trips to South Africa. It was there that I became aware of my abilities. Never having been taught in photography, drawing, or painting I truly believe this ability has come from God. My goal is to one day be a part of an organization like National Geographic. My other self taught passions consist of …..handmade jewelry made from Swarovski crystals, semi precious stones and freshwater pearls, wedding/event planning and flower arrangements.

It is my desire that my photos, jewelry and art work will speak to you since now you have become the eye of the beholder.
