I often wonder what movement of art my generation will be known for. Abstract Expressionism has come and gone, Surrealism had its scream heard round the world, what is next?  How can I not love the masters and strive to be like them, to capture precision like Rembrandt or Michelangelo, or layer brush strokes like Van Gogh, or create fantasy like Botticelli.  I like to picture myself literally standing on the shoulders of the great artists of yesterday. So, here I stand and my perspective is all the richer for it. I have been an artist all my life and a painter for most of my life.  I have submitted many works to local and global charities and find great satisfaction in making a difference in the world through art.  I like painting because it is dangerous and risky, it forces me to cross the threshold of what everybody else thinks and just be and do what my hand so longs to do: create, alter, arrange. I believe the act of creating to be the outward expression for the inward longing to know my Creator.
